香港树仁大学(树仁大学)旨在推动创新和多方面的跨学科研究合作,鼓励不同学科、学术界、业界和公营机构的学者进行公开和建设性的对话。随着学生人数的稳步增长,以及学校不断努力改善其服务,学校需要改善现有的设施和活动空间。先进和设备齐全的学习设施将有助于吸引内地和海外的优秀学生来港深造。在此策略目标下,香港树仁大学计划将现在的学生活动广场翻新/扩建为一个现代化的艺术区,以加强校园基础设施,提供更好的学习设施。

用户价值
设计充分考虑了学生的需求,提供了一个充满活力的休闲和学习区域。广场入口处有喷泉和树,引人注目。这标志着这是前厅。颜色醒目的铝制挡板天花板安装在任意长度的天花板上。舞台区域上方设计了特殊的照明功能。设计了一个特殊的互动区,设有不同高度的木制平台,作为学生互动和协作的中心,为广场营造了一种艺术的解决方案,具有前卫的品位效果,给学生和用户带来强烈的视觉冲击。大堂作为人们进入广场的第一个到达地点,旨在为每一位用户展现前卫和欢迎的印象。圆角形状的两层黑色大理石喷泉位于中心位置,为空间提供稳固的支撑。喷泉就像一个花坛,滋养着树木、花卉和植物。这样的树形图案被艺术地表达出来,给人一种屏蔽和背景的效果。带有悬挂式LED照明的开放式天花板营造出通风良好的大厅,是拍照和自拍的理想场所。
商业表现
广场分为舞台区(表演区)、平台区(学生协作区)和支持区(更衣室、视听室、机电室)。即使一些活动正在进行,玻璃板折叠隔断可以增加与主要街道的视觉联系。而在窗侧,选择了强调橙色的织物面板操作分区,进一步增加了这里的彩色背景。天花板上安装了白色、灰色和橙色三种颜色的铝挡板天花板条。
舞台
舞台的背景是一个大电视屏幕。在舞台上方悬挂不规则的之字形的灯光图案,配合背景电视,突出舞台效果,使之成为整个区域的亮点。
平台
在面向舞台区域的相对位置设计了一个特殊的不规则的之字形平台。这是学生社交互动和参与的地方。在不同的天花板高度安装不规则图案的LED照明,与舞台设计相呼应。墙面也被设计成这种之字形,将整个空间联系起来。这个平台有3层,学生们可以随意休息和坐下,创造一个动态的互动。当有小型音乐会时,这也可以作为一个升高的观景台,以便更好地欣赏舞台。
社会影响
设计项目对整个社会产生了积极的影响。香港树仁大学广场的室内设计注重可持续发展和环保的原则,采用环保材料和节能设备,通过设计促进大家的环保意识。这有助于培养教师/学生的社会责任感,推动整个社会朝着可持续发展的方向发展。
团队组织
设计项目的成功离不开一个高效的团队组织。设计师、教育专家、学校管理团队和施工团队紧密合作,确保项目按时、按质量要求完成。团队成员之间的协作和沟通能力对于项目的顺利进行起着至关重要的作用。
该项目从立项到完工期间共有3位全职职人员参与,分别负责装饰设计、机电设计及设计总监的整体规划协调。装饰设计在项目立项之初就开始跟进,提供设计方案与客户进行实时沟通联系,以便快速进入施工阶段。在设计之初会先提供概念设计供客户选择,来确定客户的装修意向,然后会紧跟着作出3D效果图及找出所用装修材料,方便客户更直观的看到装修效果,平面布局也会同时作出调整,使之更加完善的保证客户需求及在使用时的便捷性;机电设计紧跟装饰设计,在保证办公室美观舒适的情况下,给办公室作出最佳的运行系统;在施工当中会在现场全程跟进以便随时发现问题并得到有效解决;在整个过程当中起到引导及整体把控的作用,使整个项目能有条不紊的进行,确保项目能按时完工、保证美观及质量。
流程方法
1. 该项目装修设计共1500万元,历12个月投入使用。
2. 树仁大学广场工程的室内设计全部由DPWT室内设计组完成。
3. 办公室的具体设计流程如下:
1) 现场勘察及与业主沟通:DPWT人员通过施工现场的勘察,了解了现场的情况。通过与业主的沟通,了解业主的需求,为设计构想做准备。由于是改造项目,布局设计和机电设计还要同时兼顾现场情况。
2) 平面图与效果图制作:DPWT室内设计组根据现场勘察和与业主沟通的结果,先进行了平面图和效果图的制作,在内部评审完毕后,提交给业主审核,在与业主多次沟通后,得到了业主的认可。
3) 施工图的制作和装修材料的选择:根据业主认可的平面和效果图,制作施工图;由于业主的预算资金有限,室内设计组在材料的选择上下了很大的功夫,在满足设计效果的基础上,选择环保的材料,因为是分期分批施工,完成后会马上投入使用,且工地旁边都是办公区域。
4) 施工阶段:DPWT在此阶段,积极配合施工单位,对现场发生的有关设计方面的事情,及时解决。每周召开工程例会,发表进度报告,按现场实际情况及时更新设计图纸。
5) 竣工及投入使用:工程顺利竣工,装修效果达到了预期,投入使用时,得到了顾客的认可。
项目投入
该项目从立项到竣工总共花费时间在12个月左右,从项目的现场勘查,到设计阶段的与客户多次沟通确认,再到项目的施工及竣工验收,我司人员一直保持着与客户沟通的即时性。这次项目的时间紧任务重,最终仍能按期完成,并得到客户的肯定,足以说明我们是一个非常成熟的设计团队。
达成情况
1. 该项目完工后,业主对装修效果、设备性能、环保、安全、工期控制等给予了充分的肯定和赞许。非常希望能再有机会与DPWT合作,已将DPWT纳入业主公司的金牌供应商名录。
2. 该项目的成功,为DPWT和香港树仁大学将来的进一步合作做了很好的铺垫,DPWT与业主结下了非常牢固的合作关系和友谊。
3. 该项目的设计效果,在业界起到了很好的广告效益,DPWT的出色工作能力也给业主的客户留下了非常良好的印象。为DPWT在与其他公司合作的项目上提供了潜在商机。
Project Description
Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) aims to promote innovative and multifaceted interdisciplinary collaboration in research to encourage open and constructive dialogue between academics from various disciplines, academics, industry and the public sector. With the steady growth in student enrolment and the University’s continued efforts to enhance its offerings, there is a practical need for HKSYU to enhance the current facilities and activity spaces. Such state-of-the-art and well-equipped learning facilities would help to attract elite students from the mainland and overseas to further their studies in Hong Kong. Under such strategic objective, HKSYU then plan to renovate/expand the current student activities plaza into a modern state of art area to strengthen the campus infrastructure with better learning facilities.
The University aims to deliver a provision of learning facility and space for the students for a better University life. HKSYU would like to renovate the current Plaza into a more dynamic multi-functional space for student use.
The Plaza Usage Specifications
• Establish an iconic image for the university to create a brand-new image
• Provide a stage carrying out different performance including drama, musical performance, mini concert and Busking
• The Plaza can launch learning and teaching activities including Forum, Presentation, Talks,
• Provide space for student interactive sharing and social interaction
• Renovate the staircase leading to the Auditorium into a state of art space
User Value
The design takes full consideration of the student’s need to provide a dynamic leisure and study area. The plaza proposes a more spectacular entrance comprising a fountain and tree. This signifies the vestibule and create an identity to the plaza. Accent colour aluminium baffle ceiling is installed at the ceiling with random length. Special lighting feature is designed above the stage area. A special interactive zone with various height wooden platform is proposed for causal student interaction and collaboration hub. The design fosters a state of art solution to the Plaza, with Avant grade effect and a strong visual impact to the students and users. The lobby, being the first arrival place where people get into the plaza, aims to project an Avant-grade and welcoming impression imprint to every user. Two level black marble fountain with round corner shape stands at the centre position to anchor the space. The fountain acts as a flower bed, nurturing the trees, flower and plants. Such tree pattern is artistically articulated to give a screening and backdrop effect. The open ceiling with hanging LED lighting contributes an airy lobby which is an ideal place for photo taking and selfie.
Business Performance
The Plaza is divided into stage zone (performance area), platform zone (student collaboration area) and support zone (changing room, AV room, E/M room). Glazing panel folding partition can increase visual connection with the main street even some activities is launching. While for the window side, accent orange colour fabric panel operation partition is selected to further add as a colourful backdrop here. The ceiling is installed with aluminium baffle ceiling strips in 3 colours- white, grey and orange.
The Stage
The stage is designed with a large TV screen backdrop. It can provide eye catching visual effect for different activities like performance, events, talks, mini concert… Irregular zig zag lighting pattern is hanged above the stage, together with the backdrop TV, highlight the stage effect and becomes the eye-catching spot in the whole area
The Platform
A special irregular zig zag shape platform is design in the opposition location in facing the stage area. This is the place for student social interaction and engagement. Irregular pattern LED lighting plane is installed at various ceiling height to echo with the stage design. the wall is also designed in this zig zag shape to tie up the whole space. The platform is in 3 levels, students are taking rest and sit as they like to create a dynamic interaction. When there is a mini concert, this also can serve as a raised viewing platform for a better view of the stage
Social Impact
The design project has a positive impact on the whole society. The interior design of Hong Kong Shue Yan University plaza focuses on the principles of sustainable development and environmental protection, using environmentally friendly materials and energy-saving equipment to promote everyone' awareness of environmental protection through design. This helps to develop teacher/students' sense of social responsibility, and to promote the whole society towards the direction of sustainable development.
Team Structure
The success of a design project depends on an efficient team organization. Designers, education experts, school management team and construction team work closely to ensure that the project is completed on time and in accordance with quality requirements. The ability of team members to collaborate and communicate is critical to the success of a project.
The project is in charged by three core teams including interior, E/M and QS. In the beginning, the design team will work closely with client to provide options of layout, 3D rendering, material sample to settle the design proposal. Once confirmation is granted, the project management team will work with E/M engineers and QS to have construction drawing and quotation for client approval. During construction stage, designer and engineer will closely monitor the project progress to ensure due completion. Regular and ad-hoc meeting will arrange to ensure good communication to solve site problem.
Flow
1. The construction fee is 15 million with 12-month design/construction time
2. The interior fitting out part of the Shue Yan University plaza is designed by DPWT Design Ltd.
3. The design process of the research center is as follows:
1) Site inspection and discussion with client: DPWT carry out site inspection to have an understanding of site condition. Communication with the client to understand their needs and prepare the onwards design concept.
2) Layout plans and renderings: According to the result of site survey and the communication with the client, DPWT then prepare the drawings and renderings with internal review. The final confirmation is granted after around 3-4 presentations.
3) Construction drawings and selection of materials: the construction drawing was prepared after the approval of layout plans and renderings by client.
4) Phasing of construction: regular site inspection is conducted in weekly basis
5) Completion of construction and opening: the final outcome receives very positive feedback from client.
Project Investment
The project inception to completion is in an extremely tight schedule of 12 months. During this period, numerous meetings, presentation and discussion are carried out at the same among designer, engineer, client and other vendor including furniture, carpet, security. The due completion of this project is strong evidence of a well-organized project and design team.
Project Achievements
1. The final outcome of this project receives very positive feedback from client and the plaza becomes the iconic feature in the University.
2. The success of this project not only enhances DPWT's status in the client side, but also underpinning a good cooperation foundation between the two parties in the future.
3. The design effect of this project, not only acts as an advertising project to showcase DPWT design ability, but also provides the potential business opportunities for DPWT in joint projects with other companies.
