The design combines Chinese and Japanese garden philosophies. It blends Chinese patterns and the Japanese “Karesansui” landscape. To present traditional concepts modern, decorations combine natural and metallic materials. The Interior consists of three sections – The Atrium, the Mystery of Nature, and the Periphery. The atrium is a courtyard surrounded by several compartments for sensing four seasons. The rear part is a Japanese periphery space for signature "Robatayaki" and "Teppanyaki" cuisines.
User Value
The design creates new visual excitement through modern techniques and materials. It gives new life to traditional heritage passed down through the generations. Visitors not only taste exquisite dishes but also appreciate the beauty of the Japanese “Karensansui” landscape and Chinese “Siheyuan” layout.
Business Performance
Located in Beijing’s Parkview Green which is a hub of innovative thinking, the restaurant aims at making itself an art piece for appreciation. With meticulous decorations and a careful layout, it is a novel hybrid of Japanese and Chinese architecture well-received by customers since its opening.
Team Structure
Monique Lee, the design director of Mas Studio Limited, and her team are responsible for the interior design of the project.
Flow
To facilitate operation and serve various gathering purposes, the interior is divided into sections. Corridors are paved to form dining sections. Translucent glass screens retain privacy for each section and maintain visual comfort. For quick access, private rooms are located next to the entrance.
Project Investment
This project took 12 months from initiation to completion.
A total of about RMB 9,000,000.00 has been invested.
Project Achievements
In response to the restaurant’s target to build a homely vibe, the design is primarily based on traditional Japanese houses. The traditional "Karesansui" landscape is built with modern materials. The result turns out to be a unique modernity beyond our expectations and becomes a cozy dining space with privacy.
