Hoow Design is Entrusted by relevant departments of CASC, to apply terahertz imaging technology used in the aerospace industry to the field of high-level human security inspection, so we planned and designed this terahertz (THz) security inspection equipment. The terahertz (THz) security inspection equipment can quickly detect dangerous things hidden under human clothes in a matter of seconds, which not only avoids the embarrassment of traditional security -check , but also improves the speed of the process; at the same time, unlike X-ray and electromagnetic wave technology, terahertz imaging technology has no radiation, ensuring the safety of the users. As speaking of technology, the product has reached the leading level in China, with higher security and better user experience. It can provide efficient, safe and convenient security inspection services in transport hub, large venues and activity sites, etc. Hoow design has completed the product planning, appearance design, structural design, prototype production, field installation and commissioning of the project within 7 months, which has turned the innovative ideas into reality.

The goal of this project is to provide users with a safer, faster and more user-friendly security inspection experience; In the past, users have always been worried about the harm caused by radiation from X-ray and electromagnetic wave equipment. Some mandatory cooperative actions ordered by security inspectors and the long queue also make users bear greater psychological pressure; The designers of Hoow Design have used a lot of cross-border design methods and thought thoroughly about product appearance, time of security inspection, interaction mode, user experience, etc to work out this self-help security inspection equipment, which is completely harmless to human body, and can also reduce the time of security inspection.

As a civil product produced by China's aerospace industry, this case has a strong brand effect and publicity highlights. The prototype provided by Hoow design has participated in many industry exhibitions, and has been put into the procurement preparation for a one- month trial in Shenzhen . Many provinces in China have added the equipment to purchase requisition list. Compared to imported goods, it can help the government save more than a hundred million funds。

In recent years, the domestic transport hubs and large-scale activities have higher and higher requirements for safety inspection. Therefore，the way and speed of security inspection In the high-intensity security inspection work are also concerned by the public. It is urgent to improve the user experience. This case has given a very good solution. Not only the technical level catches up with foreign products, but also the cost has been lower, which can reduce the dependence of high-end security detector on foreign imported products. promoting the quality of domestic similar products.

Due to confidentiality, only part of the team members are presented here; There are more than 50 full-time members have been participated in the project, who are respectively responsible for project management, technical research & development, product planning, appearance design, structure landing, prototype production, market promotion, exhibition preparation and other work. Among them, more than 20 persons are from Hoow Design and collaborative units, who have completed the work of product planning, appearance design, structure landing and prototype production.

Due to the confidentiality, only part of the innovation methods are presented here, excluding the innovation of core technology; In the design process of hoow design, the research on user experience and psychological demands have been added. Our goal is to turn a nervous and passive security inspection process into a self-service, easy-completed experience. Finally, we get a security inspection equipment with the best user feedback so far，which is much better than we expected. In the process of product landing, the structural engineers strictly manage the cost, optimizes the structure and processing mode, which help us save a large amount of mold expense and improve the cost performance of the product.

The project takes 7 months from the project initiation to the delivery of the prototype. The cost is about 3 million RMB.

This project not only achieves the goal of design landing and good user experience, but also explores an effective way for the whole security inspection field to improve the use of inspection; Through this industry-leading product, China Aerospace Research Institute has also opened up a market in the field of higher security inspection, so that more people may have a chance to experience the space technology.
