The dual-use high-altitude working vehicle of ICON series that developed by the CRRC SIFANG CO., LTD., is the basic models of road-railer for engineering series. It mainly used for the construction, overhaul and maintenance operations of the track catenary, as well as lights installation on the railway or highway, tunnel cleaning and other high-altitude operations. A total of 33 patent applications, including 4 patents (authorized); 29 new and practical patents (authorized 24, accepted 5). We also set 3 items of enterprise standards.

Design highlights： 1. The dual-use high-altitude working vehicle of ICON series is the first model in China, which has passed the European CE certification. 2. The vehicle is divided into five systems （1） Road driving system: monitoring the vehicle driving on the road, while offers power and installation carrier for other systems. （2） Railway driving system: safeguarding safe traffic on railways and the conversion of highways and railways. The front part adopts swing arm structure without power output, playing a guiding role. The rear part uses connecting rod frame structure, and the power is outputted to guide pulley by the hydraulic motor through gearbox so that to provide power to the railway. （3） Aerial work system: the engineering part is a mixed structure with telescopic arm and folding arm, using the electronic proportional control and the installation of balance valve and hydraulic lock to ensure the smoothness and security of the operation. In addition, there is an interlock function between the operating platform and the cab. Equipped with emergency devices making it sure that workers return to the ground safely in case of the vehicle lost power. （4） Electric devices control system: use DC24V battery to supply power. （5） Hydraulic control system: use closed circuit to control the railway, consisting of variable pump (main pump) and variable motor; and open circuit to control orientation, lock of the front-and-rear axle, aerial work and also the emergency function. 3. Vivid visual effects The vehicle line combining hardness with softness. The driver room, the upper part and the guide mechanism all use the signal- yellow, while the chassis uses black ink, pursuing color harmony, simple and generous.

Improve the design level Through the successful implementation of this project, we have mastered the design method of dual-use high-altitude working vehicle drove by steel wheel. On this basis, we designed and developed the dual-use hoisting operating vehicle and catenary wire-barrow, high-altitude working vehicle of heavy-duty truck chassis, and other products. 3. Improve the manufacturing technique Through the successful implementation of this project, we improved our manufacturing technique. The static hydraulic driven running gear, the high-altitude operations (especially the automatic leveling structure requires the overall processing and re-assembly, processing accuracy of 0.01mm), and the chassis transformation are all produced and processed independently. It is the installation of static hydraulic system and CAN-BUS electrical system that improved the assembling level.

The dual-use high-altitude working vehicle has solved the technical problems such as the use of highway and railway mode, the vertical road and the steel wheel drive, which saves resource, reduces energy consumption, and improves the production efficiency and the product versatility.
