热固性注塑机,又称电木机,是一种主要应用在小家电和电器行业的注塑机设备。其注塑生产的产品,具有耐高温、强度高、耐电弧性等性能特点。柳塑开宇,前身是柳州塑料机械总厂,拥有50多年的注塑机设计制造历史,是国内第一批进入注塑机行业的国有企业,也是最早走出国门的注塑机品牌。柳塑开宇的电木机,产品性能在国内属于领先地位,在江浙地区的小家电生产配套上,具备非常高的市场份额。但由于原先的产品外观还是十几年前的外观,档次较低,导致产品售价和销量无法提升,行业市场同质化严重,柳塑开宇期望通过工业设计的提升产品的竞争力,希望产品外观经过设计后要达到目前行业一线的水平,体现品牌辨识度、家族延续性,同时从人机体验、实用性、操作便捷性、安全性等方面做出一定的微创新。经过设计之后,最终打造了一款具有柳塑开宇专属超级符号、提升人机操作体验、外观品质感更高的全新产品。
用户价值
这个项目非常注重强调产品与品牌之间的联系及用户体验方面的优化设计。产品与品牌的关系是十分紧密的,我们对“品牌形象是否够强并且能够吸引消费者”、“产品本身的表现如何支持品牌”这两个问题进行了深入的思考,并尝试从柳塑开宇的logo中提取出了专属于柳塑开宇的“三角形”超级符号,并将超级符号运用于产品当中,清晰地、持续地为品牌提供差异化视觉。在用户体验方面,我们深入工厂研究观察并体验操作工人的使用过程,观察安装维修人员的装配及维修过程。比如:我们发现在使用产品过程中工人需要每天重复上百次的开门动作,由此我们将推拉门的把手设计下移,更靠近受力点,降低了工人操作难度,提升了工人开关门的轻便性,从而提高了工作效率。并且我们根据工人使用习惯增加及调整了把手位置、喷枪支架、排插等部件,人性化设计更顺应工人使用习惯。
社会影响
在过去,注塑机这一类功能为导向的机械设备,很多厂家只注重功能的实现,设备的外观感受和使用体感都比较冰冷生硬。柳塑开宇的热固性注塑机,这是一款全新升级的产品,因为客户的产品性能上已属于领先地位,所以在项目设计中产品性能不作为首要研发方向,我们从外观、用户体验、人性化关怀、安全性四大维度上升级打造这款产品。柳州市是一个传统的重工业城市,不乏很多像柳塑开宇一样做机械设备的企业,他们相对的设备也存在比较传统老旧的问题。而柳塑开宇作为柳州工业领域具有一定影响力的老品牌,通过创新升级后的产品,正是在给柳州工业传递未来行业发展方向,树立良好的示范作用。在当下的社会发展,很多功能导向的机械设备,都应该更多地关注人性化和安全性的发展。
团队组织
该项目由双方共同协力合作,团队总人数共有8人。洛客的设计总监杨孙朋作为大项目经理,统筹安排全流程。开宇的销售副总李远航,带领洛客的设计人员,深入江浙地区的工厂进行前期现场考察。洛客的策略研究师陈美辰和工业设计经理郭琪,负责前期策略研究和设计方向定义。郭琪带领洛客的工业设计师揭光源和黄洋,很出色地完成了产品的外观方案设计。开宇的技术总工谢汝彬,作为总的技术负责人,带领开宇的结构工程师海珉负责产品的结构设计,确保最终产品的打样及生产落地。
流程方法
在执行过程中我们紧密衔接配合,在数字化的工具协助下异地联动开发。并且跟客户一起参加展会、实地进入多家工厂,深入了解用户使用痛点,为前期调研拿到了第一手详细、可靠的用户反馈资料。该项目总共用时6个月,完成从调研到设计再到落地。我们在早期梳理计划时候,将风险的余量考虑了在内,在产品诞生的过程中,陆陆续续的发生很多风险,在遇到风险时候,我们多方有效沟通,紧急处理和决策,使得这个产品能够保质保量交付。
达成情况
客户作为一家为数不多坚守在注塑机行业的企业,始终不忘初心,产品性能属于国内领先地位,但外观档次较低,导致产品价格、销量上不去。为了顺应我国工业升级转型形势,客户坚持着力提升自主创新能力,走好新型工业化道路,提升工业化发展的水平。并期望借助工业设计的力量,促进产业结构升级,增强企业竞争力、提升品牌在市场的影响力及产品在细分市场的占有率。项目完成后,我们打造出来的产品具有与品牌强联系的视觉符号及强辨识度的造型特征得到了客户极大的认可。
Project Description
Thermosetting injection molding machine, also known as bakelite machine, is a type of injection molding machine equipment mainly used in small household appliances and electrical appliances industries. The products produced by its injection molding have the performance characteristics of high temperature resistance, high strength, and arc resistance. Liusu Kaiyu, formerly known as Liuzhou Plastic Machinery General Factory, has more than 50 years of injection molding machine design and manufacturing history. It is the first batch of state-owned enterprises to enter the injection molding machine industry in China and the first injection molding machine brand to go abroad. The performance of Liusu Kaiyu's Bakelite machines is in a leading position in the country, and it has a very high market share in the production of small household appliances in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. However, because the original product appearance is still the appearance of more than ten years ago, and the grade is low, the product price and sales cannot be increased, and the industry market is homogenized. Liusu Kaiyu hopes to enhance the competitiveness of products through industrial design. After the product appearance is designed, it must reach the current industry-leading level, reflecting brand recognition and family continuity, and at the same time make certain micro-innovations in terms of human-machine experience, practicality, ease of operation, and safety. After the design, a brand new product with Liusu Kaiyu’s exclusive super symbol, enhanced man-machine operation experience, and higher appearance quality was finally created.
User Value
This project puts great emphasis on the connection between the product and the brand and the optimized design of the user experience. The relationship between the product and the brand is very close. We have conducted in-depth thinking on the two issues of "whether the brand image is strong enough to attract consumers" and "how does the product itself support the brand", and tried to start from Liusu Yu's logo extracts the "triangular" super symbol exclusive to Liusu Kaiyu, and applies the super symbol to the product to clearly and continuously provide a differentiated vision for the brand. In terms of user experience, we in-depth factory research, observe and experience the use process of operators, and observe the assembly and maintenance processes of installation and maintenance personnel. For example, we found that workers need to repeat hundreds of times a day to open the door during the use of the product. Therefore, we moved the handle design of the sliding door down and closer to the stress point, reducing the difficulty of the worker’s operation and improving the worker’s ability to open and close the door. Portability, thereby improving work efficiency. In addition, we have added and adjusted the handle position, spray gun bracket, power strip and other components according to the workers' usage habits. The humanized design is more in line with the workers' usage habits.
Social Impact
In the past, for function-oriented mechanical equipment such as injection molding machines, many manufacturers only paid attention to the realization of functions, and the appearance and use of the equipment were relatively cold and rigid. Liusu Kaiyu’s thermosetting injection molding machine is a new upgraded product. Because the customer’s product performance is already in the leading position, product performance is not the primary research and development direction in the project design. We focus on appearance, user experience, and humanity. This product has been upgraded in the four dimensions of humanized care and safety. Liuzhou is a traditional heavy industry city. There are many companies that do machinery and equipment like Liusu Kaiyu. Their relative equipment also has relatively traditional and old problems. As an old brand with a certain influence in Liuzhou's industrial field, Liusu Kaiyu's innovative and upgraded products are passing the future industry development direction to Liuzhou industry and setting a good example. In the current social development, many function-oriented machinery and equipment should pay more attention to the development of humanization and safety.
Team Structure
The project is a joint collaboration between the two parties, with a total of 8 people in the team. Sunpeng Yang, the design director of LKKER, as the big project manager, coordinated the whole process. Kaiyu’s vice president of sales, Li Yuanhang, led LKKER’s designers to go to factories in Jiangsu and Zhejiang to conduct preliminary site inspections. LKKER's strategic researcher Chen Meichen and industrial design manager Guo Qi are responsible for the preliminary strategic research and design direction definition. Guo Qi led LKKER's industrial designers Jie Guangyuan and Huang Yang to complete the design of the product's appearance very well. Kaiyu’s chief technical engineer Xie Rubin, as the chief technical officer, leads Kaiyu’s structural engineer Hai Min to be responsible for the structural design of the product to ensure the proofing and production of the final product.
Flow
In the implementation process, we closely coordinated and coordinated development in different places with the assistance of digital tools. In addition, I participated in exhibitions with customers and entered many factories on the spot to understand the pain points of users in depth, and obtained first-hand detailed and reliable user feedback materials for the preliminary research. The project took a total of 6 months, from research to design to landing. When we sorted out the plan in the early stage, we took the margin of risk into account. During the birth of the product, many risks occurred one after another. When we encountered risks, we communicated effectively, dealt with and made decisions urgently, and made this The products can be delivered in quality and quantity.
Project Achievements
As one of the few companies that stick to the injection molding machine industry, the customer has never forgotten its original intention. The product performance belongs to the leading position in the country, but the appearance grade is low, which causes the product price and sales to fail to rise. In order to comply with the situation of my country's industrial upgrading and transformation, customers insist on improving their independent innovation capabilities, taking a new path to industrialization, and improving the level of industrialization development. And expect to use the power of industrial design to promote the upgrading of the industrial structure, enhance the competitiveness of enterprises, enhance the brand's influence in the market and the product's market share in market segments. After the completion of the project, the products we have created have a strong connection with the brand's visual symbols and strong recognizable modeling characteristics, which have been greatly recognized by customers.
