Project Description
How to integrate the modern design techniques with local materials while gradual disappearance of the old historical buildings in the countryside to create a detached space between the past and the modern. The rammed earth buildings in the 1950s have become the memory of a generation. We use inherited cultural memory to restore and regenerate rural buildings left over from history, as well as visual collisions brought about by new spaces, to form a relationship between architectural space and nature. More from the protection and rebirth of the brutalism style, highlighting the material and design techniques of the structure, using the surface texture of the rammed earth wall of the old house to reflect the beauty of the historical soil.
User Value
This project was originally a half-collapsed old yellow mud rammed earth building in the 1960s. It is located in a bamboo forest in the middle of a mountain, surrounded by weeds, lonely and abandoned. When I first posted it, I was surprised. There will be such an old house on the edge of a small mountain stream. The valley is east-west, and the main entrance of the building faces east-south. It is independently imprinted with the sunrise and clouds every year. It suddenly seems to be a very beautiful house in the past. In order to preserve the old houses with yellow mud rammed earth walls that are disappearing day by day, I decided to use the house to transform a small rural art museum. The creativity came from a rural architectural investigation in Northern Europe in 18 years. I used modern design techniques with local stone, mud, and bamboo. The fusion of materials such as wood and wood creates a detached space between the past and modern; and strives to put people first as the design concept, express a new space that use simple and simple materials to create a poetic and contemporary taste, while not forgetting the usability of architecture and human habitation. The eternity.
Business Performance
Rural commerce is different from urban commerce. Natural landscape and countryside, and the function of the building also require transformation in line with demand. Uniqueness and differentiation are the keys to the transformation of rural culture. Sightseeing, vacation, and culture are important factors that create differences, generate business models, and enhance competitiveness.
Social Impact
The artistic transformation of rural buildings is a process of upgrading the original living environment and space. To create comfortable and respectful rural dwellings, triggering new thinking and research on the transformation style of Asian rural dwellings.

Flow
The location is surrounded by mountains and rivers and faces east. The outdoor layers of stone steps are hidden in the natural scenery of bamboo forests and creeks. The new modern space and the old mud wall space form a stylish contrast. The trees and bamboos cut down in the process were used internally, and furniture and hand-made chandeliers were re-made. The large-space glass walls and steel frame column shapes, and the combination of mud walls and wooden structures all reflect the materials used in the new and old buildings. Echoing, integrating the architectural space into nature to form a new modern aesthetic vision is the biggest innovation of this project.
Project Achievements
Sustainability The baptism of new buildings over time will eventually become historical buildings. Therefore, how to give new aesthetics to historical buildings requires research and creativity on reconstructed buildings. This project is to try a new use of rural dwellings, to explore the poetic artistic value, while not forgetting the usability of architecture and the eternity of human settlement.
